Agents, what matters most to you about your brokerage?

Do you remember the day you got your real estate license and joined your brokerage office? In all likelihood, it was a happy day for you and it was the first step on the path for you to become independent, helping others pursue their dreams while simultaneously pursuing your own.

What’s interesting is the process that people use to choose the brokerage that they associate themselves with.

I know people use different criteria, such as the freedom to run your own business, training, leads, desk space, support, compensation, advertising, brand recognition and I have even heard people say they chose a certain brand because of the color of the blazers that their agents wear on commercials.

This is Hyper Local Blogging at it’s Best

River Hills is a 2,500 home planned unit development community located in Valrico, Fl, just outside Tampa. In researching who the competition is in the blogging world for this area, I discovered that the area is pretty much virgin territory except for two Agents from two different companies along way from River Hills, that have contributed a hand full of generic community and country club descriptions about the community and placed several pictures of the area in their blogs. Upon further investigation, I learned that these same two agents apparently are reading out of the same play book, because they have both done the same thing for every major housing development and area of the Tampa Bay area.

A Glance in Real Estate’s Rearview Mirror

I consider myself an “old school” real estate agent, I started in 1985. I have seen numerous changes in the real estate industry over the years. Many of the changes had been in regard to license law, but since the mortgage melt down starting in 2006 and the eventual across the board financial difficulties our country has experienced, major changes have started to take place in the entire real estate industry. This evolution is not over but is changing as we speak.
