If you are having second thoughts as to whether you are going to make it in your chosen field and you are thinking it is time to give up and quit, search inside for where these thoughts are really coming from.
Is this an emotional response to the current financial slow down? Is this a response to your own subconscious mind trying to manifest your fear of failure or your limited beliefs in your abilities? Are you allowing external circumstances to control your inner thoughts?
Do you know who you are and what you are capable of? Is it in your DNA to be the type of person that can fall down and then pick themselves back up or is it a natural reaction for you to just give up when times get tough?
Times may be tough for you right now. There are two ways you can respond to tough times. One is to buy in to the belief that things are just too tough and you are not going to make it so you should give up and do something with more security than selling real estate. The second alternative is for you to look for the opportunity within your trials and adversity to find the path that makes your business grow and flourish. You have heard the saying, “When the going gets tough, the tough get going”.
The path for you to grow your business may require you to do more volume. The path may require that you delegate more tasks so that you can bring up your volume or it may be that you need to choose a niche that is surviving in this market. It may also require you to get more education to have credibility and to become an expert within that niche.
Think for a minute, during the “Great Depression” more self-made millionaires were created than at any other time in U.S. history until the dotcom boom came along in the late 1990′s. That is a pretty amazing statistic that out of such adversity, so many found a niche and excelled.
Through every trial and adversity that you go through, there is an opportunity. Let’s go out there and find ours.

Thanks Dave. Many years ago I received my RE license and had started out in the profession on a part-time basis. Then we started having kids and I started traveling for the job which wasn’t condusive to building a business. SO I stayed in the corpoarte world until I was laid off. I had waited all those years to get back into the game. Now was my time, then the crash hit. All I can say is, The Lord has been good to me. My production is not where I want it and it seems there are new wrinkles that crop up more often because of the times we are in. So, sure, I’ve thought about quiting BUT a colleague told me times like this are a great time to hone our skills so we are ready for the market correction.
You should really think about steering this blog into a dominant authority in this niche. You clearly have a solid understanding of the topics everyone is searching for on this website anyways and you could potentially even make a buck or three off of some advertising. I would dive into following recent trends and increasing the volume of blog posts you put up and I bet you’d start getting some nice traffic in the near future. Just a brainstorm, good luck regardless!
