This is Hyper Local Blogging at it’s Best

River Hills is a 2,500 home planned unit development community located in Valrico, Fl, just outside Tampa. In researching who the competition is in the blogging world for this area, I discovered that the area is pretty much virgin territory except for two Agents from two different companies along way from River Hills, that have contributed a hand full of generic community and country club descriptions about the community and placed several pictures of the area in their blogs. Upon further investigation, I learned that these same two agents apparently are reading out of the same play book, because they have both done the same thing for every major housing development and area of the Tampa Bay area.

I can only assume, but it appears that these folks are trying to be the Tampa Bay area experts and are fishing for leads on the internet. I’m sure they are fine folks but are just misguided in there philosophy. How can any one agent or office be the experts for an area that covers several counties? I know times are hard, but you can not be all things to all people. I’m sure you have heard the phrase “Jack of all Trades, but Master of none”. This definitely applies in this case. It could be that they are just misguided members of a franchise that plays the “Numbers Game” and puts 300 agents on the street in hopes that they sell something.

I would like to contrast a recent blog by Rick Frissell, a Florida’s Beautiful Homes convert and ardent promoter. The name of the blog is River Hills; Valrico, FL has an American Hero!

In my opinion this blog is the essence of what a hyper local blog is all about. It is a news worthy public interest piece that is both interesting to the residents of River Hills and the surrounding area and it’s relevant to the times. Is it about selling real estate, mortgage rates, or how to prepare your home to sell? No. Does it help Rick Frissell establish himself as “The Expert” for River Hills Comunnity, Valrico, Florida? Absolutely.

One of the many things that have helped Florida’s Beautiful Homes attract agents is that we get how internet marketing works, we give the agent the tools to dominate an area. Wrap all of this with some team spirit and you have Florida’s Beautiful Homes.
